It’s not even funny…

that every time President Bush has a point in his speech tonight, whether or not you agree with said point, only one entire side of the audience moves, applauds, stands up, agrees, etc. The entire other side, sits with grim looks upon their faces. How partisan can we be? Um, and if you need clarification, it is the elephant side giving him all the props.

I really don’t care about the sides. I have my opinions, and feel strongly about them. Or at least many of them. Many issues still need much research and education on my part. But I do not assume, not for a second, that some political party will be able to see to all of my needs. I don’t even associate myself with one, over another. Although I tend to lean more conservatively, what really gripes me is the school yard tactics to which the leaders of our nations routinely lower themselves. The last time I remember it was acceptable to say, I don’t like you, I’m taking my ball home, was in the 4th grade kickball game.

Waaa, waaa, waaaa, yall. What ever happened to sharing the sandbox? Oh good grief, now he’s going on about the No Child Left Behind Act. Have you talked to a teacher about what this is actually doing to our children? Have you heard their often shameful accounts of what our children must deal with in our typical public schools? Are you a teacher? If so, please, please tell me what is good about this. Really. And how that affects your job, and your classroom. And what happens when you push one child through, in order that he or she not be left behind, but are not overly concerned with level of readiness to go forward?

I do not want to hear this man, or any other in our government, tell us we should be proud of the strides we’re making in our schools, Democrat and Republican alike. 55% of our state tax dollars goes to our local schools. And it is a school district that we will probably never feel our children can attend. That. is. deplorable. Democrat and Republican alike, we should be appalled at the state of our schools, our families, and our nation’s direction, as a whole. And get off our partisan asses and do something positive about it. Together. Together, we’ve got to live in this society. Just my opinion.
